Supporting Our Community, One Program at a Time
At Mothers In Action, our programs are dedicated to uplifting and empowering our community. We provide essential resources, education, and opportunities that foster growth, self-reliance, and a sense of belonging. From mentoring at-risk youth to feeding the hungry and offering life skills training, our initiatives address the diverse needs of those we serve. Each program is driven by our commitment to creating a stronger, more connected community where everyone can thrive.
Our Programs
Community Recycling & Paper Shredding Event
Held every fourth Saturday in March, this event helps residents safely dispose of hazardous waste and confidential documents at no cost. Over seven years, we’ve assisted more than 7,500 community members.
Annual Back to School Health Fair
Our Health Fair provides free health screenings, school supplies, haircuts, and uniforms to over 7,000 underserved youth, along with essential information on healthcare and job opportunities.
Thanksgiving Day Senior Feed
On Thanksgiving Day, we deliver over 1,000 meals to seniors, veterans, and those in need. Each meal includes a full Thanksgiving feast, dessert, a greeting card from our youth, and valuable resource information.

- Angel Tree Christmas Project: In December, our Angel Tree Project spreads holiday cheer by providing gift cards or age-appropriate gifts to seniors, at-risk youth, and college students. Last year, we served over 500 individuals, and more than 18,500 people have benefited over the past 23 years.
- Mentoring Services & Self-Esteem Building: We offer mentoring and programs designed to boost self-esteem, helping individuals develop confidence and skills for a better future.
- Town Hall Meetings & Community Forums: We host gatherings to discuss community concerns and solutions, fostering dialogue and collaboration among residents.
- Financial Literacy Training: Our workshops equip individuals with essential skills to manage their finances and plan for their future.
- Summer Internships: We provide valuable internship opportunities, giving young people hands-on experience and a chance to develop their career skills.
- Senior and Homeless Feeds: Beyond our Thanksgiving event, we regularly organize feeds for seniors and homeless individuals, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.
- Health and Career Fairs: We organize events to connect individuals with healthcare resources and job opportunities, supporting their overall well-being and career growth.
- Emergency & Holiday Food Distribution: We respond to urgent needs by distributing food during emergencies and holidays, providing essential supplies to families in crisis.
- Life Skills Training: Our programs teach practical skills needed for daily life, empowering individuals to live independently and confidently.

Voices of Gratitude
Thanks to the Annual Back to School Health Fair, my children received the supplies and health screenings they needed to start the school year strong. This event has been a blessing to our family for years.
